The University of Texas School of Law's pro bono program served 3,412 low-income Texans in the 2024 calendar year, the highest annual total in the program's 40-year history, according to the law school's annual access-to-justice report released Monday.

Where the Need Is Greatest

Housing-related matters — eviction defense, security-deposit disputes, and habitability claims — accounted for 38 percent of all cases, followed by consumer debt (22 percent) and family law (19 percent).
